Bill 30 - Legislative Changes to Help Make Alberta's Roads Safer
The six amendments to the Act will help clarify roles and enforcement, which will help improve traffic safety for Albertans. Proposed changes include:
- Replacing 'cancellation' with 'suspension' of licence privileges for individuals under the Maintenance Enforcement Program
- Creating a special investigator/inspector licence class for staff that currently carry out specific duties in commercial vehicle safety
- Clarifying the definition of 'intersection safety device', so it is clear that devices at intersections may produce red light violations, speeding infractions, or both
