Legislation Proposed to Limit Driving Privileges for People Under 22 Years
Ontario's Ministry of Transportation will soon propose new legislation to limit driving privileges for people under the ages of 22.
The proposal to include:
Zero blood alcohol limit for all drivers aged 21 years and under
Escalating sanctions for young drivers who speed, starting with a 30 day license suspension
- After the 3rd offence the driver will have to start at the beginning of the Graduated Driver Licensing program
Drivers between the age of 16 and 19 will be limited to one teenage passenger in the vehicle
Total time to full "G License" will be changed from 24 months to 36 months with a 6 month reduction when an approved driver training course is taken
