On September 30, 2007, Bill 203 went into effect. This bill provides more power to police officials where aggressive driving or street racing is the offense. Those that drive 50 km/h over the posted speed limit can now be fined up to $10,000, receive immediate license suspension and have their vehicle impounded for 7 days. The bill also provides for increased penalties for repeat drunk drivers.
